It is important to fully audit existing workflows, and to gain an understanding of the technology and workflow journey on which the broadcaster must embark. The broadcaster will have ambitions to use the opportunity to enhance output, and a change of technology and workflow is an ideal opportunity.

Similarly, the staffing resource model will be closely aligned with the technology and workflow currently in place. Some significant re-alignment will almost certainly be required - both in terms of training and re-skilling. In some cases job functions may stay much the same and require only training for new workflow. However, some job functions will become obsolete, whilst at the same time new job functions will be created.
